Council follows Bush's
lead
If George Bush is allowed to create a "signing statement," setting
aside selected provisions in a bill that he has just signed into law, is it not appropriate
for our mayor and City Council to create a "signing statement" after the grand jury
findings, telling us they are not planning to take any action on the findings? Isn't
the council just following the dictates of our president?
